    Was up all!!!

I’ve been busy lately and haven’t had time to post in over a week, far from a first but it’s the first time I ever actually felt guilty about not posting for a while. I am on a training course through work so I’m busy absorbing as much info as I can. It’s actually nothing to tough, more of a refresher course for the most part but interesting none the less.

Ok, on to the purpose of this post. I was taking advantage of a little down time to get caught up on the last few Hak.5 episodes (yup, haven’t had time to keep up with the vidcasts either). Episode 5 was a documentary about another show called Pure Pwnage, an internet show filmed in Toronto. Yup hak5 guys, guess I’ve had my head in the sand for the last year…lol. I watched the show about these Pwnage guys and wow, it’s crazy how big these guys are! So far I’ve only watched the first episode and it was ok, it’s basically an introduction to the main character and his brother talking in internet gaming slang, insulting nubs and stuff like that. The Hak5 documentary talked a lot about the story and how far they’ve gone and it actually looks quite interesting. Only 12 episodes to watch to be all caught up so get started now, I’m gonna do it one day at a time!

    Check them out here.

P.S. Hey Pure Pwnage guys, if by some miracle you read this, gime an RSS feed for the vids, I wanna subscribe through Democracy Player!!!

    Later all,
    Ed.

Patch Tuesday is already featuring critical patches to Vista. Yup, I know, quite the shocker…lol. The best part is that there seems to be a debate as to weather it’s actually a Vista flaw. The patch doesn’t repair any actual Vista code, it addresses a vulnerability in Vista’s malware scanning engine. If you ask me, software that is included in and ships with an operating system is part of the OS, therefore the OS must suffer the same shame as the flawed software it’s bundled with. Come on people, if the Mitsubishi motor in your Chrysler Sebring fails would you say that the flaw was not in the car?

I knew Microsoft was putting a big foot in there mouths with there most secure OS statements, I just didn’t think it would happen so fast. Why do I have the feeling this is just the first chapter in a very large book…lol.

I recently stumbled across a really cool series of YouTube videos, basically just a bunch of kids hacking away on what ever they can get there hands on. There probably not for the hacking nube, they’ll talk about a lot of more advanced stuff like the Windows SAM file, Proxy servers and rainbow tables while offering little to no explanations of they are. Basically if that last sentence had you scratching your head these videos are probably not for you, if your one of the 1337 then subscribe and enjoy!!!

    Was up all!!!

I just noticed today that I haven’t posted in almost 3 months, totally unacceptable…lol. I have been doing a lot of thinking about what I should do with this place, I was thinking I could create my own lifehacker kind of blog where I just post links to a bunch of cool articles that I come across but that’s quite a commitment so I dont know if that will happen. I’m not really all that into posting any of those deep soal searching blog entry’s, way too private for that. So whats left, good question… I think I’m gonna give this thing another go as a links to cool things blog and see how long I can keep it up for.

Time to liven this place up, starting tomorrow…lol.

    Later all,
    Ed.
