I know you all missed me right? Right? Ya, ok, probably not…lol. Well, like it or not I’m back and I’ve got another round of high quality blogging ready to go! Let’s start things off a little later today with a little Windows XP trick that I recently set up myself to keep everything running smooth. It’s the first in a series of how-to posts that I have been thinking of lately, big things to coming soon to edword.net, stay tuned!!! If you have any ideas for a good how-to post or if there’s something you want to do but don’t know how then drop me a line at comments@edword.net and I’ll try to throw a post together for you.

Well, I’m off to the dentist…
    Later all,

Note: I lost this post and recovered it from a backup but links to the videos are gone, they were good too, very upsetting…lol.

I came across some hilarious video’s on youtube today and just had to share them… Enjoy.

How would you punish a Microsoft programmer??? Yup, this just about covers it…lol.

I’m not sure what to say about this one… You guys have to watch it to the end though… Steve Ballmer goes insane, I wonder what he was on…lol. A big guy should not have that much energy in front of a live croud, thats all I’ll say. Seriously worth a watch!!!

Steve Ballmer tells it like it is… iPhone is a joke? Well, don’t think I would go that far but he makes some good points…

And why not, lets throw in a pro Mac video… Is Jobs a little sore? Yup, sounds like he is…lol.

One of Vista’s hot new features is a built in widget engine. Some would say that widgets are purely eye candy but after being a widget user for about a year now I know better. Sure they look cool but they serve a purpose, some let you load information from RSS feeds or even from your online email accounts while others give you a good representation of your systems resources.

If you want to get in on the widget craze but your still on XP then your in luck! Just download yahoo’s nifty widget engine and you’ve got all you need to take advantage of hundreds of widgets.

Welcome to the wonderful world of widgets, now that your Widgeting I would highly recommend downloading my one and only custom created widget here. It’s a wifi signal strength gauge made with laptops in mind but it can be used on any system that uses a wireless network connection.

Download the Yahoo Widget engine here

    Later all,

I’ve been looking for this video for a while now, just when I stop looking my uncle sends me the link…lol. Thanks Macki (the nickname says it all…lol).

If you don’t get what this clip is all about and why it’s such a huge moment in PC history, or if you just want a little background on the whole thing then I would highly recommend you get your hands on a movie called “The Pirates of Silicone Valley”, the greatest story ever told…

    Later all,

I wrote a post a few weeks ago about the future of TV. The newest version of Democracy Player is actually quite good and I’ve been using it quite a bit ever since that post but there’s now a new kid in town.

It’s called Joost, brought to you by the now extremely rich creators of Skype. It’s what I am now referring to as the first real implementation of IPTV. They’re taking a different approach then Democracy Player by providing actual television content. So far they have Much Music and some BBC shows like Fifth Gear (thats what keeps me coming back). I heard while hanging around the water cooler that there using torrenting technology to lighten the load on their servers though I haven’t done any real research to find out if that’s actually true. Because of the way it buffers and then plays really well torrenting doesn’t seem possible. Torrenting doesn’t grab files in order from beginning to end so if torrenting it is then its clearly a custom implementation of torrenting technology. Whatever it is it works. Another cool feature is a nifty built in widget engine with google talk messaging out of the box.

It’s currently in a Beta phase and its a by invite like Gmail in the early days (ok, years). I got in, have you…lol.

Want an invite? Post a comment, if your nice I just might send you one…lol. On that note I leave you with a few screenshots, enjoy.

    Display Mode: Basic, Enhanced.

    Check them out here…

    Later all,
    Ed.
