I decided to update the Blackberry Storm to the newly leaked 4.7.0.90 OS last night and ouch, it was a little scary to say the least!  Mistake one was that I used Windows 7 to flash the leaked OS to the phone, ahhh the Beta lifestyle…lol.  Windows 7 didn’t do a very good job, the progress bars don’t work but it did get a far as deleting all my apps before it hung on uploading software for like 2 hours before I pulled the cable and ended up with a temporarily bricked phone   It wasn’t supposed to happen that way

Anyways, long story short, switched to an XP machine and re-flashed the phone and I’m totally getting my 4.7.0.90 on.  So how is it?  Glad you asked, let me take a minute and tell you how I feel about it.  There is now an option of setting it up so that you get a full qwerty keyboard in portrait mode.  I now know why this was not an option before, dosent really work.  It’s funny cause it works on the iPhone pretty good but here, not really.  Not that big a deal, the landscape keyboard is where its at, and I can use landscape to type out an email too…   The phone feels for the most part better now, scrolling feels smoother, apps launch faster, just feels all round snappier and a total step in the right direction.

The bad, well the camera sucks now!  It looks like its gonna take a pic and sometimes makes the sound too but about 8 times out of 10 I look in my pictures folder and there is nothing there.  I didnt think that would bother me but now I find that it does.  So ya, that said I think I will be downgrading back to the Telus OS tonight, the OS is promissing but I want my camera back…

I know, a little late to be talking about ringing in a new year but I’ve been busy lately.  Took some vacation and cam back to work to the sky falling.  Thinks are far from back to normal but I think I’ll start finding the time to post a few quick things that catch my eye every now and then.

So much to talk about, what should I pick for this here post?  Okay, the Palm Pre it is! This phone and there new BebOS looks awesome!  I recently got my hands on a Blackberry Storm and even though I wanted to hate it I really didnt and that scared me a little because I really dont want to buy another phone right now and then I saw the CES footage of the Pre and I was rescued from the clutches of the Storm!  I cant wait for Telus to get this beauty, I’ll post the videos when I get home, everything fun is blocked here at work
